                                                                     About "Charge of the Gators"

“Charge of the ‘gators”  was inspired by the University of Florida football team and the “Charge of the Scots at Waterloo” by Elizabeth Butler.  Dan Rosselle, the artist, painted the original in 2001 and there were 1000 prints made.  Freespirit Emporium has the last four of these.  There is also a mural on the side of a restaurant building directly across from the University of Florida campus which was completed by the artist at about the same time.

                                                                             About the Artist

Dan Rosselle has actively pursued his art, off and on, for over 30 years.  He played high school football in Miami a “few” years ago and has combined his love of the sport with his art.  In the Gainesville, FL area he has painted approximately 90 portraits and several large murals on the inside and outside of commercial establishments.
