A crystal skull is defined as a human shaped skull made from various types of quartz crystal, usually discovered in or near an ancient ruin. Almost all of these ancient artifacts have come out of Mexico or Central America, usually linked to the Mayans or Aztecs, however in recent years, crystal skulls have been surfacing or reported in South America, Europe and Asia.
Crystal skulls by themselves are a mystery. There does not seem to be a definitive answer about how the crystal skulls work or produce their strange phenomena around them.

• There have been a number of phenomena associated with the crystal skulls including:
  Individuals receiving a healing in the presence
  Psychics and sensitives channeling or receiving impressions
  Holographic images forming inside of the crystal skulls
  A powerful energy measured within or around the skulls when activated

It is written that the possibility all the crystal skulls on the planet are interconnected through some type of ethereal energy network.  It also reports that through each piece of quartz, exist the potential of an inter-dimensional doorway, that when the quartz of the skull is active, it can receive and project out various fields of energies and information that can come from any crystal skull linked to this network. This is analogous to the manner in which the internet works, as all of the computers on the net are inter-connected.
