A crystal skull is defined as a human shaped skull made from
various types of quartz crystal, usually discovered in or near an ancient
ruin. Almost all of these ancient artifacts have come out of Mexico or
Central America, usually linked to the Mayans or Aztecs, however in recent
years, crystal skulls have been surfacing or reported in South America,
Europe and Asia.
Crystal skulls by themselves are a mystery. There does not seem to be a
definitive answer about how the crystal skulls work or produce their
strange phenomena around them.
