Rutilated Quartz Metaphysical Properties
Rutilated quartz is a type of quartz with needlelike rutile embedded in it.  Rutile is a titanium dioxide mineral which means "reddish" in Latin.  Other quartz can also be rutilated.
Chakra Association: sometimes considered a link between the crown and root chakras
Enhances/Strengthens: physical and mental balance and stability, meditation on feminine ideas, self-reliance, finding one's way
Diminishes/Lessens: fears, depression, problems with decision-making.

Smoky quartz is grey to warm brown, light and clear to an almost "solid" looking black/brown. The coloration is due to natural radiation occurring in its environment. (Quartz crystals are also radiated in the lab to create the smoke color, but it is not recommended, and can usually be identified by an all-too even almost black color. ) Crystals can also be smoky in color from the presence of sodium. Excellent specimens are currently found in Brazil, Switzerland, and Mexico.  Our smoky quartz is from Brazil.

Metaphysical Properties of Smoky Quartz
Dissipates negativity. Balances energies of mind and body. Good for meditation. Protective and grounding stone. Enhances dream awareness and channeling abilities. Aids depression and is mildly sedative and relaxing.
Enhances/Strengthens: grounding, stability, realism, calmness, can give the wearer or user a sense of comfort
Diminishes/Lessens: balances sexual energy, fears, unhappiness
Place at or on the feet of one experiencing "floatiness" or instability to help the individual regain their composure and grounding.
Smoky quartz is a variety of quartz that is "smoky" looking;  from light grey or brown, to dark brown or black.
